Whoops-a-Daisy!

From: Stacy
Whoops a Daisy Idea
I made an anniversary card last night with my new Whoops Set! The color combo was a little different but both my husband and I liked it. Side Fold White Card (Normal Size) Stamp the solid 1/2 and full daisy randomly in Wild Berry. Save room for a few stems and random leaves. Add the dark line in vineyard berry. Fill the insides/top (stamp that looks like a gumdrop) with sunflower ink. Fill in with leaves and stems. I used solid garden green and outline New england ivy. Cut a square of New England Ivy with paper cutters. Layer a piece of vineyard berry on top of it. Layer a piece of sunflower on top of that. On the sunflower, stamp a sentiment. (I did "Love is in the Air") On the inside, you could do another sentiment. I did an anniversary stamp. Hope you like it! Stacy

Subject: Ideas: Whoops a Daisy demo--
("Whoops a Daisy" and the new "Thinking of You...")
BTW the "Thinking of You..." was the best seller! THANKS JEANETTE for these word sets! They are JUST what we needed and their versatility is SO obvious even for beginners!!
Anyway, here's what I demoed:
1) Treasure Pocket card. 4.25x5.5 white card, fold on side. Stamped allover background (esp. top half) with B-size "Daisy Sprinkle" in Buttercup. Attach a 3x4.25 piece of New England Ivy B&T on three sides to bottom portion of card, leaving top of B&T open, making a pocket. On a scrap of white cardstock, stamp three of the half-daisies in a horizontal row (solid in Buttercup, outline in Goldrush) and some leaves in between the flowers (solid in Garden Green, outline in New England Ivy). Cut out the row of flowers and attach to top of B&T paper, so that your pocket is edged by the flowers. That's it for the card itself---but then whip out a pre-made bookmark with the full flower & leaves (same colors, except do the leaves ONLY in Garden--second gen. for solid, first gen. for outline) and one of our new long skinny sayings in New England. (You have to do the leaves in Garden only so that the saying will show up.) Tuck the bookmark in the pocket, and that's it!

2) 6x6 layout. Using same color combos, do a "captivating corners" layout on a 5.5x5.5 white square. In each corner I did one full flower in the center, and a half-flower on each side of the full. Then fill in spaces with leaves. Attach a 3x3 square of New England B&T in center for pic. Have a prestamped & precut single half flower & leaves to overlap one corner of the B&T. Attach the whole thing to a 6x6 square of Buttercup. (I have never demoed 6x6s til somebody mentioned--at convention??--that if the hostess doesn't SB, you can tell her to put a fave photo on it & hang it on the fridge. OR as my customers at this demo pointed out, frame it in a square frame!!)

3) Embossed card. On a 5x5 Buttercup square card (top fold), emboss "Thinking of You..." from the new set in white in an all-over background. On a separate 2x2 (or so) square, emboss the full solid daisy in white. Layer that on a slightly larger white square, and center that on the 5x5 card. Attach a sheer white bow just above the flower. Stamp one of the coordinating sayings in Buttercup on a white scrap, and attach inside card. This was sooo easy but they were Wow-ed!

4) 4.25x5.5 white card. Stamp full flower (outline only) all over the card with embossing ink, then go back and chalk them with cotton ball in bright yellow and pink. Cut about a white 1-inch wide strip (5.5 long) and on it stamp "With lots of love" (from the "Thinking of You..." set) in yellow (Buttercup works ok even tho it's not as bright as the chalk). Edge the long sides of the strip w/ fancy scissors, and adhere across the card. (I attached it a little bit lower than the center.) This is a fun one--a completely different look than the others!

5) Hands on. This was more complicated than I usually do but there were only a few ladies there so it wasn't too hard. Have them stamp an all-over Daisy Sprinkle background in Buttercup on a 4.25x5.5 card (side fold). On precut 2 inch wide strips (5.5 inch long), have them basically duplicate the bookmark that I described in #1 above. Then have them fancy-edge 1.5 inch (5.5 long) strips on New England B&T. To assemble the card, attach the edged B&T strip to the right side of the flower-stamped strip (with the fancy edge showing a bit). Then attach all that to the left side of the card (so that the flowered strip is up against the fold). Hope all this helps somebody out there! I really enjoyed using this set and I loved this color combo--but I'm a sucker for fall/winter colors! :-) Nikki

Subject: Whoops a Daisy -many ideas!
Whoops a Daisy set -All ideas use Cranberry, Goldrush and Aspen Green.
I love these duet stamps!
(FYI: according to Carol Duval the "off register" look is "in" -you don't need to always line them up -Yeah!)
#1 6x6 white card. Mount two rectangles -1 cranberry and one goldrush, each 2 3/4"x5 1/2" -vertically. Stamp a 5 1/2" square of Vellum with the side view outline daisy and center randomly with white daisy ink, trim with the deckle edger and mount on card. Stamp your choice of words in Cranberry ink on to a scrap of CS -mount on to a slightly larger scrap of cranberry (and/or goldrush) and mount on card.
Add a bow above the mounted pc.

#2 regular size Goldrush card, side fold. Stamp a cranberry and a aspen rectangle (each 2 3/4"x3 3/8") tone-on-tone -whole daisy outline on the Cranberry and outline leaf on the aspen. You can finish this one many ways -a sheer bow tied around the fold, mount up another flower and leaf or word, or whatever.

#3 Stamp 3 daisies -1 full and two sides on an approx 4"x5" pc of 'white CS. Place them acording to the triangle rule. Mask and add leaves to fill in. Stamp the solid daisies in second generation gold rush, the solid centers in full strength goldrush. The detail center and outline daisies in cranberry. The leaves should be done in the aspen -full strength for the outline and second generation for the solids. Tear around the edge. Mount on to a goldrush (or aspen or cranberry) pc of B&T, then to your goldrush, aspen or cranberry card. I like to add a second color in to the B&T with a marker for a fun extra touch!

#4 Treasure Pocket card. Stamp the outline side view daisies three times across the middle of a 5 1/2"x4 1/4" pc of white CS (long way). You can use the duet stamped look or just the outlines. Mask and add leaves. Cut out along the top edges of your images. Sponge brayer the bottom open area using the small stripe stencil in aspen. Stamp "Happiness held is the seed, happiness shared is the flower" in cranberry on the bottom (P&O and put half inside the card Ü). Attach a 2 3/4 x 5" pc of Cranberry B&T to the top of a top fold card. Attach the pocket by running a line of tombow adhesive along the bottom and sides of the pocket piece. Insert a packet of seeds (I found nice square packets at Mennards, or put some seeds in a clear envy or one of our new memory pockets). I like to stamp at least one more flower on the inside.

#5 Pocket Quick Card. I am doing this all in Cranberry (except the leaves). I always use 12x12 paper and have left over 3 1/2" strips of cs for making tags and such (when cutting down for regular size cards. Use one of those strips and cut it to a 3"x6" (or 3 1/2"x7" -adjust the B&T sizes as well). Fold it in half. Attach a 3x3 pc of B&T with a whiter background, trimmed with the deckle edger to the inside bottom where you will stamp/write. On the upper inside, attach a 3x3 of another pattern, also trimmed, then pull the bottom 2 corners up towards each other until they touch and crease. Punch two small holes in those corners, and tie them together with a thin pc of ribbon to form a pocket. White emboss an outline daisy on Cranberry CS and outline leaves on Aspen. Cut them out and mount them in the pocket. I use 3-D Dots on the flower and sometimes the leaves too. You can also add some filler like spanish moss in there -just a little!

#6 Doorhanger (or make in to a card) Randomly stamp the outline side daisies and the center in goldrush. On a 2" square of Goldrush CS white emboss the full daisy and center. Mount on to a 2 3/4" sq. of Goldrush B&T -whiter backgound -you may need to sponge it a bit to help it stand out between the solid color and white. Glue to the center bottom portion of your doorhanger and attach a pretty sheer bow above it.

#7 Cut 4- 2" squares of white CS. Stamp a side daisy and center on one, tilted one way and on a second one, tilted the other way, a leaf on another, and a word on the 4th one. I used all glodrush daisies and green leaves. The word in cranberry. Mount them on 2 1/2" squares of goldrush CS and then on to a 5 1/2" pc of B&T (add the other colors to it). then attach to your 6x6 card.

#8 Positive/negative card. Stamp the full outline daisy on a 2" square of white CS in Gold rush. Cut it in half verically. Use your PAS to position the daisy in the same spot on a 2" goldrush square and emboss it in white. Cut it in half also. Put a goldrush half together with a white half and mount on a 2 1/2" (or larger) square of B&T. Glue to a 3x3 card. (or you can adapt the B&T size and mount on a whole card)

#9 Take a white side fold card and white emboss the side view outline daisies and center down along the fold. Use finger daubers to add a SOFT halo around the emboss. Sponge stripes of Goldrush on the card.

#10 Stamp the Daisy outline all over a glossy card in platinum and wipe it off. (or you can use your emboss pad, but don't wipe it off -let it dry a bit) then Brayer over it in goldrush -the harder you press the better it develops". Stamp a message in cranberry or black on top. Variation -use the leaves and aspen. Then stamp your message in aspen on another pc of glossy, sponge the edge a bit and mount on top.

#11 Stamp the leaves all around the edge of the card. Add the centers in cranberry -like berries! Or another variation: You could stamp around a circle of paper, using it like a mask. Remove the circle and add glittler around it to finish the edge off and put a message in the center. Sponge the edge of the card and/or use your page stencil. OR how about creating cherries or grapes?! Wow!

Whoops a Daisy Set
Autumn Terracota Pad
Sunflower Pad
Ponderosa Pine Pad
Aspen Green pad
Friend to Friend Stamp from S262 From my Heart set
HUGE Pinking Edgers
Base Paper is Ponderosa Pine C/S side fold A strip of Sunflower B/T light patterned measuring 3" x 5 1/2" A scrap of Sunflower solid paper at least 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" (these two pieces are edged and glue with the solid on the bottom! Looks just like real ric rac!!)
**helpful hint- trim them together, just hold real tight!)
Using Autumn Terracotta pad stamp the 1/2 daisy (open image) toward the bottom, center and top on the light patterened B/T, put top one toward right edge, center toward left edge and bottom daisy toward the right edge.
Using Sunflower Pad use that stamps mate (ya know, the solid) and stamp on top of open image. I stamped the flower center (the ju-ju!) in Autumn Terracota a hair higher than where is should go so it would show...
Using Ponderosa Pine, stamp the outline of the long skinny leaf in the center just below the middle daisy, but to the right. This is the only leaf that is a full image.... stamp again at the very top going off edge so the bottom shows... and stamp again at the bottom so only the tip shows.
Now use Aspen Green to do the fill in thing with the leafs solid mate.
This next part is really dramatic.....
using Ponderosa pine and the stem stamp, stamp it going off the bottom flower, then ink and stamp again going right through the flowers to the next flower up....(this one does touch that full leaf) then ink and stamp again going from the middle flower to the top flower.
Add a 1/2 stem to that orphan leaf at the top.
I think because the stems aren't perfect, gals have looked at this and said" That looks cool, cause it's WRONG!!
Anyways, if you have edged those two papers, glue them down on the left edge of the card so the solid is peeking under from the light patterned B/T....
On a not quite 2" x 2" square of UW, stamp the Friend to Friend in Autumn Terracota and glue to a 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" square piece of solid Sunflower C/S.
Use a Legacy Writer to add broken lines on each square and glue the verse on top, then glue to the center of card slightly tilted..... . I really like those huge edgers!
